Matt The Welder was born and raised in rural Florida, where family, faith, and hard work come first. Growing up in a small town, he learned early that if something’s broken, you fix it, whether it’s a piece of equipment, a fence, or a neighbor’s problem.
Matt grew up around agriculture. He raised cattle, horses, and pigs from a young age, was active in FFA, and spent years involved in rodeos. His life has been rooted in working with farmers, fixing tractors and equipment, shoeing horses, and doing hands-on work on farms and ranches across Florida.
He understands agriculture not just from a desk, but from the ground up. He has worked beside small operators, family farms, and ranchers who keep this state fed and running. Agriculture needs leadership that respects hard work, protects local producers, and understands what it takes to build something from nothing.
A welder and mechanic by trade, Matt built his career the same way he lives his life, with hard work , honesty, and heart. He’s spent years in the shop and out in the field, helping farmers, ranchers, and everyday folks keep Florida running.
Matt has been happily married for 8 years and is the proud father of wonderful
children who inspire him to build a better future for the next generation of Floridians.
Matt isn’t a career politician, he’s one of us. He understands what it’s like to work hard and raise a family, while fighting to hold onto the values that make rural Florida special.
Paid for by Matt The Welder, Republican, for Florida Commissioner of Agriculture.
